Amy Sloane-Garris has been named executive director of marketing and recruitment in Syracuse University’s Division of Enrollment Management.

She is formerly the director of enrollment management at SU Abroad; her duties have been expanded to include oversight of marketing and recruitment for Undergraduate Admissions, as well as SU Abroad. Sloane-Garris will also be responsible for the marketing and recruitment of the Global Enterprise Technology immersion experience, in collaboration with JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Reporting to the dean of admissions, Sloane-Garris will focus primarily on the development of strategic short- and long-term plans in support of the University’s enrollment goals. She will work closely with the senior management teams in Enrollment Management and the Division of Advancement and External Affairs to develop research-driven recruitment plans/campaigns that both build upon and maximize the energy, reputation and increasing interest in Syracuse University. This will include the systemic review of emerging technologies to support enrollment efforts, as well as the development of partnerships with external organizations such as universities and consortia.

Sloane-Garris has more than seven years of service with SU—four with SU Abroad and three as the executive director of enrollment management for the School of Information Studies (iSchool). She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the SUNY College at Potsdam and a master’s of administration degree from Columbia College.
