A Fox New York “Street Talk” story about Memorial Day tributes to veterans profiles Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) graduates and Mike Haynie, EBV founder and assistant professor of entrepreneurship in the Whitman School of Management. Link here for second video.

A Boston Globe article about the law enforcement tactic of detaining people for civil immigration violations while attempting to build criminal cases against them cites statistics from Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) and mentions Susan Long, co-director of TRAC.

WSYR-TV covered the SU College of Law Commencement ceremony held on Sunday.

Saturday’s Post-Standard covered the Syracuse Stage premiere of the documentary, “Syracuse’s 15th Ward and Beyond.” Linda Litttlejohn, associate vice president of SU’s South Side Initiative, was quoted.

FACULTY QUOTES

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in Dallas Morning News, Palm Beach Post and Star-Banner (Ocala, Fla.) stories on the “Lost” finale; and in a New York Times article on the death of a Detroit child during a police raid of her family home with a television crew filming the event. Thompson is also quoted in the Post-Standard about Wegmans product placement on network television; and in WBAL-AM in Baltimore (listen to audio clip) and WTOP-Washington, D.C., stories about talks between Time Warner Cable and Hollywood executives aimed at shortening the time between a movie’s premiere and its release on cable.

Maxwell School political science professors Grant Reeher and Jeffrey Stonecash contributed to a Post-Standard opinion article on suggestions for reform of the New York State Legislature.

J. David Richardson, professor of economics in the Maxwell School, is quoted in a MarketWatch story on American exports to China.

Pat Cihon, associate professor of law and public policy in the Whitman School, is quoted in a Tampa Tribune article on the unionization of public employees.

Pat Penfield, assistant professor of supply chain management practice in the Whitman School, is quoted in a YNN report about retailers selling caskets online.
