Presentation to the SyracuseCoE of results from a water quality research study on the Oneida, Oswego and Seneca river systems was reported in a Post-Standard article. The Three Rivers study was co-authored by Charles T. Driscoll, University Professor of Environmental Systems Engineering in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science.

“The Caucus” New York Times blog cited a quote from Leonard Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, in a story on President Obama, federal debt reduction and budget austerity.

Thursday’s presentation by nationally syndicated Washington Post columnist Michelle Singletary, as a guest of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Whitman School of Management was noted in today’s Post-Standard Moneywise section.

Your News Now and CNY Central covered the Syracuse University College of Law Ambulance Chase fundraiser to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York.

Jeff Karson, Department of Earth Sciences chair and Jesse Paige Heroy Professor in The College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in an Ars Technica article on Iceland’s volcanoes.

Roy Gutterman, assistant professor and director of the Carnegie Legal Reporting Program in the Newhouse School, commented for a Harvard Law Record article on challenges facing legal journalists working with online and new media formats.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in an Associated Press story on the New Jersey chic phenomenon, in a Women’s Wear Daily article on celebrities and trends in shapewear and in a Los Angeles Times story on the rising British presence in Hollywood.

Elizabeth Payne, assistant professor in the School of Education, is quoted in a Post-Standard article on a rise in the number of HIV cases among Onondaga County young people.
