SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

The Huffington Post, Inside Higher Ed, CNBC, MSNBC, and the Post-Standard reported on JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon delivering the 2010 Commencement address and student concerns about the decision.

SU Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) statistics were cited in the Orange County Register and Baltimore Sun in articles about the IRS spending more time auditing small businesses than large corporations.

WSYR-TV covered a forum last night hosted by Le Moyne College and SU on the new health care reform legislation.

The April/May issue of CNY Business Exchange featured Eric Beattie, Syracuse University’s director of Campus Planning, Design and Construction, discussing sustainable campus building operation as embodied in the University’s new Ernie Davis Hall with its pending silver LEED certification. The issue also features articles by Kenneth Shaw, chancellor emeritus and University Professor, on effective team leadership; and by Mitch Franklin, assistant professor of accounting at the Whitman School, on charitable contributions as a tax strategy for businesses and individuals. Additionally, the issue includes a photo spread highlighting the March 5 dedication of SyracuseCoE headquarters, with SU Chancellor Nancy Cantor; Ed Bogucz, executive director of the center; and Suresh Santanam, deputy executive director, in attendance.

FACULTY QUOTES

Ellen deLara, associate professor in the School of Social Work, was interviewed by Boston Life Radio on the impact of the suicides in Massachusetts on teenagers and what parents can do to try to protect their children.

Leonard Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, authored a column for CNN Money about federal health insurance mandates.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, commented in the National Ledger on carhops on roller skates.
