Syracuse.com reported briefly on “The Campbell Conversations” public affairs radio show, a joint venture between the Campbell Public Affairs Institute at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and WRVO. Grant Reeher, associate professor of political science in the Maxwell School and director of the Campbell Institute, is quoted.

A Syracuse.com story previewed the April 12 Center for Health and Behavior lecture by Harvard medical sociologist Nicholas Christakis on health and social media.

FACULTY QUOTES

David M. Crane L’80, professor of practice in the College of Law, is quoted in an Associated Press article on Pope Benedict XVI’s planned visit to Britain and principles of universal jurisdiction and immunity to prosecution in regard to European sex abuse scandals.

Louis Kriesberg, professor emeritus in the Maxwell School, authored an op-ed for the Sunday Post-Standard on needed approaches to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in a Toronto Star article on the allure of the iPad, in a New York Times story on YouTube comic Shane Dawson and in a Toledo Blade story on Crystal Bowersox and post-American Idol stars.

Michael Barkun, professor of political science in the Maxwell School, is quoted in Christian Science Monitor and Boston Herald articles on the Guardians of the free Republics group’s letters to governors.

Ellen deLara, associate professor in the College of Human Ecology’s School of Social Work, was interviewed by WDRC radio (Hartford, Conn.) on the suicide of Phoebe Prince in Massachusetts and the connection of bullying to suicide.

Terry Turnipseed, associate professor in the College of Law, is quoted in a Post-Standard story on eminent domain in Auburn.
