Ninno named community relations associate at Syracuse University
Kathryn “Kate” Ninno of Syracuse, N.Y., has been appointed community relations associate in the Office of Government and Community Relations at Syracuse University. Before joining the University, Ninno served as a youth specialist and lease compliance liaison for the Near West Side Community Development Corporation in Chicago.
In her new position, Ninno will further the University’s interests by planning, coordinating, monitoring and acting as liaison between the University and community at large. The role will promote a positive image of the University by improving and strengthening lines of communication with surrounding neighborhoods, building lasting relationships among community groups and agencies, and increasing awareness of the University’s role in the Syracuse community.
Ninno has previously held key internships with Red Light Management, Koenig Advertising Firm, Mark Russell & Associates and SUNY Upstate Medical University. In Chicago, she served on the board of advisors for the nonprofit National Coaching Fellows.
A graduate of Nottingham High School, Ninno holds a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in technical and scientific communication.
