Andy Samberg will be the comedian for this semester’s University Union Performing Arts show. The show is co-sponsored by Hillel and will take place on Wednesday, March 24, in Goldstein Auditorium in the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center, three days after students return from Spring Break. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Schine Box Office (315-443-4517) beginning Monday, March 8; tickets are $7 for students with valid SU I.D.; $10 for faculty/staff. The event is not open to the public.

Samberg is a comedian best known as a cast member of “Saturday Night Live” or as a part of the comedic musical group The Lonely Island. Samberg has been a part of Saturday Night Live since 2005 and appeared in the famous sketch “Dick in a Box” with Justin Timberlake. Samberg also started The Lonely Island with two friends, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer. The group released its first album, “Incredibad,” in February 2009, which featured popular songs such as “I’m on a Boat” with T-Pain and “Like a Boss.” The album peaked at #7 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart.

In his SU appearance, Samberg will entertain the audience beginning with an “Inside the Actor’s Studio” format with videos and concluding with a Q&A.
