Miike Snow kicks off the first concert of the 2010 Bandersnatch Music Series, with special guest Deloreanon, on Tuesday, March 30, in the Schine Underground. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and music starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Schine Box Office, (315) 443-4517, and are $5 for students with a valid SU I.D. and $10 for the general public (18+).
Miike Snow, an electro pop band, hails from Sweden and consists of Andrew Wyatt and the production team of Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg, better known as Bloodshy and Avant. Miike Snow’s self-titled debut full length album was released in the United States in 2009. Soon after, the album was listed as one of SPIN magazine’s Top 40 albums of 2009. And just before the release of the debut album, iTunes chose Miike Snow to be part of its upcoming Next Big Thing program, a once-a-year editorial selection of the 40 new artists that iTunes thinks will have the most impact in the years to come.
Miike Snow isn’t Bloodshy and Avant’s first experience with success. The production team has produced for Britney Spears, Madonna and Kylie Minogue. Bloodshy and Avant won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Record for their work on Britney Spears’s “Toxic” in 2005.
Miike Snow is performing at several festivals this year, including SXSW, Coachella and Bonnaroo.
Bandersnatch Music Series is a subdivision of University Union Concerts. University Union is the large-scale programming organization for the entire undergraduate population at Syracuse University.
