SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

Syracuse University Chancellor Nancy Cantor and Ann Clarke, dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, are mentioned in a Post-Standard article on the Syracuse Opera multimedia presentation of “The Flying Dutchman,” authored by Kristen Rajczak, a Goldring Arts Journalism fellow in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Adam Brown, VPA instructor and producer of the Urban Video Project, and VPA student Nicholas Matarese are quoted in the article.

The history of conscientious objectors written by Steven Taylor, Centennial Professor of Disability Studies in the School of Education, is mentioned in an NPR story on the death of Charlie Lord, a World War II conscientious objector who photographed patients in the hospital where he served, bringing to light conditions suffered by patients in state mental hospitals.

Mary Karr, Jesse Truesdell Peck Professor of Literature in The College of Arts and Sciences, was interviewed in a Standard Times (San Angelo, Texas) article about a recent Angelo State University writers conference.

Scott Lathrop, clinical professor of marketing in the Whitman School, is quoted in a WSYR-TV story on the availability of name-brand products versus store-brand labels at large retailers experiencing sluggish sales.
