The Post-Standard 2010 Progress Edition featured question-and-answer interviews with Ed Pulaski, assistant director in the Whitman School of Management’s Career Center, on career counseling and Mike Haynie, assistant professor of entrepreneurship in the Whitman School, on entrepreneurship. Timothy Bond, producing artistic director of Syracuse Stage and the department of drama in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Doug Marrone, SU football head coach, are also interviewed as newcomers building the area community. College of Arts and Sciences doctoral candidate Joshua Lensbouer is featured in the Agents of Change section for his work on an alternative fuel formulation for butanol. Also, Martin Walls, communication manager in the SyracuseCoe, and Eric Schiff, professor of physics in The College of Arts and Sciences, are mentioned in the section (fourth and fifth segments, respectively). Additionally, undergraduate student Michael Short is quoted in a story on sustainability and Generation E.

The Christian Science Monitor blog “Patchwork Nation” reported on the News21 journalism initiative resident in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and other journalism schools.

The Post-Standard reported that Mitchel Wallerstein, dean of the Maxwell School, has been named the new president of Baruch College.

Eagle Newspapers reported on the Art-in-Motion partnership between Imagining America, the Open Hand Theater and Syracuse Stage.

Bill Coplin, professor of public policy at the Maxwell School and College of Arts and Sciences, contributed a graduate school decision-making checklist to the Chicago Now blog.

The Newhouse School’s Tully Free Speech Award to Mexican journalist Lydia Cacho was reported by Eagle Newspapers. Several faculty members and students were also mentioned, along with the La Casita Cultural Center Project, a Chancellor’s Leadership Project.
