The Post-Standard reported on a new nonprofit charitable foundation established by Jim and Juli Boeheim.

Grant Reeher, professor of political science in the Maxwell School and College of Arts and Sciences, authored an opinion piece in Sunday’s Post-Standard about democracy and the control of school boards.

Regional and local media coverage on the death of a Syracuse University student included reports by the Associated Press, Albany Times Union, Little Falls Evening Times, Utica Observer-Dispatch, Post-Standard, WNYT (Albany), WKTV (Utica), News 10 Now, CNY Central, WSYR-TV and WSYR-AM.

An analysis of federal tax data by David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School, is cited in articles about ultra-rich American taxpayers appearing in The Cleveland Leader and Gannett newspapers in Rochester, Binghamton, Elmira and Ithaca.

The Light Work exhibition “Rachel Herman: The Imp of Love” was reviewed in Sunday’s Post-Standard Stars magazine.

A Post-Standard story on efforts to honor Libba Cotten includes mention of former SU staff member Francis Parks and support by SU Chancellor Nancy Cantor.

Syracuse.com previewed the upcoming University Lectures presentation by Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize recipient, at Hendricks Chapel Tuesday.

FACULTY QUOTES

Dale Meyerrose, iSchool adjunct professor and retired U.S. Air Force major general, was interviewed on CNN as a featured expert on cyber security.

Rick Burton, David B. Falk Professor of Sport Management in the College of Human Ecology, is quoted in The Telegraph (Calcutta, India), Sunday Telegraph (Sydney, Australia) and Associated Press stories on Tiger Woods’ apology. Burton is also quoted in a Bloomberg “Taking Stock” segment on the apology, sponsor reactions and Woods’ golfing future. Additionally, Burton writes in a SportsBusiness Journal (subscription required) article on promoting the National Hockey League.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in a Psychology Today story on Americans’ fascination with weather news coverage.
