North Jersey newspapers reported on the startup of theworldoncampus.com, an Internet site developed by Newhouse School student Patrice Innocenti for students to communicate across cultural, religious, and political boundaries.

Rachael Gazdick, Say Yes Syracuse executive director, was interviewed on WCNY’s Central Issues program about the Say Yes Program.

The Post-Standard previewed Pulse’s Black Violin concert taking place this evening.

A Post-Standard article featured the current installations of the Urban Video Project on three buildings along the Connective Corridor.

The Post-Standard reported briefly on the ninth annual “Conversations on Race” event to be held at the Newhouse School.

FACULTY QUOTES

David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School, authored a column in the New York Times on the recent tax changes that affect higher-income retirees. He is also quoted in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, AOL’s Daily Finance, and Salon.com for his recent report on tax rates and deductions for the wealthy. Based on this report, he authored a column in Tax.com.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in BusinessWeek on the generational shift of watching television programming on the Internet.

Scott Lathrop, clinical professor of marketing in the Whitman School, was interviewed by WSTM-TV on Wal-Mart and other stores discontinuing selling name brand products in favor of generic/store products.

Steve Davis, associate professor and chair of the Newhouse School’s newspaper journalism department, was quoted in a WRVO-AM report on launch of The Stand community newspaper.
