SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

Research from Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) is cited in Associated Press, Wyoming Tribune Eagle, Arizona Republic and Crime Report articles on immigration enforcement.

Launch of The Stand, a neighborhood newspaper produced by the Newhouse School for Syracuse’s South Side, was reported by Editor & Publisher and News 10 Now.

The Post-Standard updated progress on Near West Side green home construction of the Live Work Home, TED and R-House projects, from the School of Architecture’s “From the Ground Up: Innovative Green Homes” design competition.

The SU Department of Drama’s production of “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” was reviewed by the Post-Standard.

Angela Petrucco, executive director of the Whitman School of Management’s Career Center, is quoted about online learning in the CareerDiva.net blog, published on BusinessWeek’s Business Exchange web pages.

Mehrzad Boroujerdi, director of the Middle Eastern Studies Program in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and The College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in a New York Times article on opposition supporters in Iran.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in a Baltimore Sun story on television viewership and a Citizen’s Voice (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) article on weather forecasting as entertainment.

Shannon Bowen, associate professor of public relations in the Newhouse School, is quoted in a Star-Ledger story on damage to the Toyota brand from its recall problems.

Leonard Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, is quoted in a St. Louis Post Dispatch article on tax expenditures.

David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School, was interviewed on WHAM Channel 13 (Rochester, N.Y.) about a $335,000 subsidy, plus tax abatements, for redevelopment of a 9,200-square-foot building in downtown Rochester.
