Syracuse University’s all-male a cappella group Orange Appeal will perform as part of “A cappella for the Fellas,” a concert to benefit the Rescue Mission, on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. The concert will take place in Storer Auditorium, Ferrante Hall, on the campus of Onondaga Community College, 4585 West Seneca Turnpike. Parking is available in Lot 4.

Tickets for the concert are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, and $10 for students and senior citizens. They are available online at http://rmsyr.org/Development/2010/2010-Acappella/Main_Page.htm, by calling (315) 478-9710 or by visiting Musculoskeletal Medicine P.C., Madison-Irving Medical Center, 475 Irving Ave., Suite 402, Syracuse.

The fourth annual concert will feature a cappella groups from three other Central New York colleges and universities–Closer Still from the SUNY College at Oswego, The Crosbys from Binghamton University and Ithacappella from Ithaca College–in addition to special guests Five to Life and no Xcuse.

“A cappella for the Fellas” is the brainchild of local physician John Finkenstadt, who brought his a cappella group, no Xcuse, to the Rescue Mission in 2007 to entertain residents. The concert was so well-received that Finkenstadt approached the Rescue Mission about doing a full-fledged benefit featuring no Xcuse and other area a cappella groups.
