SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

A New York Times “Green Inc.” blog report on solar design and aesthetics features the CASE demonstration project of a Dynamic Solar Facade installed on the south wall of SyracuseCoE headquarters.

The Post-Standard reported on proposed benefit changes at Syracuse University affecting SUNY-ESF employees. Kevin C. Quinn, senior vice president for public affairs, is quoted.

The SU Opera Theatre production of “Die Fledermaus” was reviewed by Syracuse.com on Saturday and Sunday.

Syracuse.com previewed the concert presentation, “Recovered Voices,” a collaboration between the SU School of Education, Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, SU Oratorio Society and Syracuse International Film Festival.

FACULTY QUOTES

John Palmer, University Professor and dean emeritus of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, is quoted in an Agence France Presse article on President Obama and the U.S. budget deficit.

Rick Burton, David B. Falk Professor of Sport Management in the College of Human Ecology, is quoted in the PBS “Only a Game” segment on a ticket sales promotion for the Milwaukee Bucks “Squad 6″ fan club. An audio link is available here.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, spoke on ESPN about controversy surrounding CBS plans to air an advocacy ad during the Super Bowl featuring Tim Tebow. Thompson is quoted in the Christian Science Monitor story on changes to the CBS policy on advocacy ads. Thompson is also quoted in a Scranton Times-Tribune story on Google Map’s Street View of Lackawanna County and a Press of Atlantic City story on Grammy Awards glamour.

Thomas Keck, associate professor in the Maxwell School and College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in an Austin American-Statesman article on free speech, corporate campaign spending and activist judges.
