Central New York Magazine published the essay, “Two Odd-Duck Instruments,” by Johanna Keller, director of the Goldring Arts Journalism Program and associate professor in the Newhouse School. The Jan./Feb. issue also featured an interview with Say Yes Syracuse Director Rachael Gadzick about the program and its goals, and an interview with Newhouse School Dean Lorraine Branham for the “Bookshelf” feature.

The Post-Standard previewed a seminar at the Syracuse Technology Garden on hiring international students, which is being led by David DiMaggio, program manager of the Syracuse University CASE Center Industry co-op program.

FACULTY QUOTES

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, commented in WTOP Radio in Washington, D.C. (listen to audio segment) on the death of author Erich Segal and on his classic book and film “Love Story.”

Nancy Snow, associate professor in the Newhouse School, wrote a Huffington Post column on the death of four Mississippi University students.

Larry Bennett, the Whitman assistant professor of entrepreneurial practice in the Whitman School of Management, was quoted in an Inc. Magazine article on how small business owners can inspire innovation and ideas in their employees. Bennett was also interviewed by News 10 Now on the employee stock ownership plan for P&C.

A Boston Globe blog on parenting cites advice by Alice Sterling Honig, professor emerita of child and family studies in the College of Human Ecology, in a post on language used by children.
