SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

Stuart Thorson, professor of political science and international relations in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and The College of Arts and Sciences, is featured in a Yonhap News Agency (Korea) story about identifying and fostering young people in North Korea with interests in science.

David M. Crane L’80, professor of practice in the College of Law, is featured in a Voice of America story reviewing 2009 in terms of the rule of law.

Dan Klamm, outreach and marketing coordinator in SU’s Center for Career for Career Services; Donald Saleh, vice president for enrollment management; Me’Shea Brooks-Rolling, director of special events and public relations in the Burton Blatt Institute and senior administrator in the College of Visual and Performing Arts; Anthony Rotolo, iSchool instructional technology manager and adjunct faculty member; and Jack Matson, director in Human Resources; are included in the Post-Standard MoneyWise team of experts exploring job hunting and career moves. Additionally, Donald Dutkowsky, professor of economics in the Maxwell School and The College of Arts and Sciences, and Douglas Quin, assistant professor in the Newhouse School, are mentioned in a Post-Standard article on underemployment.

Steven Taylor, Centennial Professor of Disability Studies in the School of Education, is quoted in a National Public Radio article on World War II pacifists exposing the treatment and conditions suffered by patients in state mental hospitals.

Milton Mueller, iSchool professor, is quoted in a Sci-Tech Today article on the number of IP addresses available.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in WCBS-NY and APR Marketplace stories about the dispute between Fox and Time Warner; in Associated Press, Washington Times and Pioneer Press articles reviewing the decade; and inNew York Times and Los Angeles Times stories on television remakes and NASA TV respectively. Thompson is also quoted in a Charlotte Observer article on the retirement of NPR’s Carl Kasell and a San Francisco Chronicle story on infomercial products.

David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School of Management, commented in Messenger Post articles on regulating too-big-to-fail lenders and on housing and tax costs.

Carol Charles, community engagement manager for Syracuse Stage, is quoted in a Post-Standard story about the presentation of a play promoting unity among Congolese refugees resettled in the Syracuse area.
