Stuart Thorson, professor of political science and international relations in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and The College of Arts and Sciences, is featured in a JoonAng Daily (Korea) article on “science diplomacy” in meetings with faculty members at universities in the North Korea capital of Pyongyang.

The Syracuse Say Yes to Education program was mentioned in a “Tonight from Washington” segment on C-SPAN, which focused on the Obama administration and education policy.

About.com published an art history special exhibition review of “Winslow Homer’s Empire State: Houghton Farm and Beyond” at Syracuse University Art Galleries and the Louise and Bernard Palitz Gallery in Lubin House. Guest curator David Tatham, fine arts professor emeritus; and David Prince, curator and associate director of SUArt Galleries, are mentioned in the article.

A radio essay by David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School of Management, aired on National Public Radio station WXXI (Rochester, N.Y.) discussing money and the ancient roots of modern economics. SU Chancellor Nancy Cantor is mentioned in a Sunday Post-Standard editor’s note about pessimism in New York State.

Reader response to a consolidated school district proposal by Gerald Grant, Hannah Hammond Professor of Education and Sociology Emeritus in the School of Education, appeared in the Post-Standard.

Ceramic work by Errol Willett, associate professor and department chair in the College of Visual and Performing arts is included in a Post-Standard Stars review of the three-person exhibition currently at Limestone Art and Framing Gallery.

Four College of Visual and Performing Arts students featured as guest vocalists were included in a Post-Standard review of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra “Holiday Pops” concert.

Leonard Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, appeared on Fox Business News commenting on why government should not tax bankers’ bonuses.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, is quoted in a Time magazine story on the history of Christmas caroling, in a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review article on Diane Sawyer as anchor of ABC’s Evening News and in the Gainesville Sun (Fla.) on college football player Tim Tebow.

Philip Arnold, associate professor of indigenous religion in The College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in an Indian Country Today article on the 2009 Parliament of the World’s Religions and the Doctrine of Discovery.
