A photo of Syracuse University Chancellor Nancy Cantor; artists Sara Bareilles and Akon; Rob Light, Creative Artists Agency (CAA) managing partner/head of the music division; Martin Bandier, SONY/ATV Music Publishing chairman/CEO; and David Rezak, director of SU’s Bandier Program for Music and the Entertainment Industries; appears in the Dec. 12 issue of Billboard pertaining to the Nov. 12 SU-organized panel discussion “Come Together: Building the Right Team,” held at CAA’s Los Angeles office as part of SU’s LA Campus launch celebration.

Mehrzad Boroujerdi, director of the Middle Eastern Studies Program in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, is quoted in a Washington Times article on Iranian politics and in an earlier story on student demonstrations.

Research from SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) was cited in a Jurist article on U.S. immigration detention and transfer policies.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in a Politico story on the possibility of George Stephanopoulos as co-anchor of “Good Morning America” and in a Mediaite.com retrospective on media leaders who died during the decade. Thompson is also quoted in an Akron Beacon Journal article on athletes’ public and private lives and in a Retail Wire (subscription required) story on the word “Christmas” in holiday advertising.

Ed Bogucz, executive director of the Syracuse CoE, is quoted in a Post-Standard article on funding announcements for the center from Siemens and federal sources.

SU iSchool Dean Elizabeth Liddy is quoted in a Post-Standard article on launch of the Green Data Center at the University. David and Susan Dischiave, professors in the iSchool, and the FAIR Health database project are also mentioned in the article.

Constanze Weyhenmeyer, assistant professor of earth sciences in The College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in a Post-Standard story on global warming and the United Nations Summit on Climate Change in Copenhagen.

William Banks, Board of Advisors Distinguished Professor and director of the Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism in the College of Law and the Maxwell School, is quoted in AVweb and Post-Standard stories on the Reaper drone.

SU is mentioned in a Syracuse.com story on the new cable television show “Men of a Certain Age.”
