The world premiere of choreographer Paul Taylor’s “Brief Encounters,” commissioned by Syracuse University, was reviewed in New York Times and Post-Standard articles. Additionally, WAER radio reported on the Taylor 2 residency.

Deborah Freund, distinguished professor of public administration and economics in the Maxwell School, was quoted in an American Medical News article on establishment of the new FAIR Health database for out-of-network healthcare costs.

Ernie Davis Hall was featured in a Chronicle of Higher Education “Buildings and Grounds” article.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, was quoted by Fox News on the “Gossip Girl” television series; in a Boston Globe article on the 30th anniversary of “This Old House;” and in Ventura County Star, Gainesville Sun (Fla.) and Manila Bulletin stories on the 40th anniversary of “Sesame Street.”

The new memoir, “Lit,” from Mary Karr, Jesse Truesdell Peck Professor of Literature in The College of Arts and Sciences, was reviewed in New York magazine and Austin American-Statesman (Texas) articles.

Comments by Arsalan Kahnemuyipour, assistant professor of linguistics in The College of Arts and Sciences, at Thursday Morning Roundtable about the Iranian presidential election and its aftermath were quoted in the Sunday Post-Standard’s “Consider This” column.

A Syracuse.com blog is following the Near West Side green home construction of “Live Work Home,” a winner in the School of Architecture’s “From the Ground Up: Innovative Green Homes” design competition.

The Post-Standard briefly noted the iSchool’s celebration of National Distance Learning Week.
