Rick Burton, David B. Falk Professor of Sport Management in the College of Human Ecology, was quoted in the Oct. 5 edition of Golf Week Magazine on looking at the inclusion of golf into the Olympics.

Research by SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) was cited in the New York Times’ “By the Numbers” column, which looked at how terrorism suspects are labeled.

A book review by Erik Chaput, a graduate student studying history in the Maxwell School, on Gordon S. Wood’s “Empire of Liberty: A History of the Early Republic, 1789-1815″ appeared in the Providence Journal.

The News-Times of Danbury (Conn.) quoted the Newhouse School’s Fiona Chew, professor of television, radio and film, and Bud Carey, professor of practice in television, radio and film, in an article on the possible ratings effect of moving three television show studios to Stamford.

Tuesday’s dedication of the JPMorgan Chase Technology Center at SU was covered by the Associated Press, Post-Standard, WSYR-TV, News 10 Now, and WSYR-AM.

The Post-Standard reported briefly on the passing of Rev. Bill Lott, who served as a part-time instructor in the School of Social Work.

Syracuse.com previewed the upcoming lecture by scholar and activist Angela Davis scheduled for Oct. 19 at SU’s Life Sciences Complex.

Syracuse City Eagle previewed the upcoming Library Associates lecture by Maureen Corrigan, book critic for National Public Radio’s “Fresh Air.”
