Say Yes to Education staff and volunteers will join forces this Sunday, Oct. 11, with 40 Below and other community organizations to canvass West and South Side neighborhoods. Volunteers will speak one-on-one with families about the many components of the Say Yes to Education program, including after-school and summer camp programs, health and wellness and legal services, as well as explaining the free college tuition program for Syracuse City School District students who meet graduation, residency and admission requirements.
The canvassing event will begin with a training session at Central Village Boys & Girls Club, 212 Van Buren St., Syracuse, at 11 a.m., followed by the canvassing event, from noon-3 p.m., and will culminate with a social gathering at PJ’s Pub and Grill in Armory Square.
Those interested in participating in the canvassing event may visit http://www.sayyessyracuse.org to sign up as a volunteer or may simply show up for the training session.
