Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, was quoted briefly in an American Public Media Marketplace Morning Report story on new television sitcoms.

Gary Radke, professor of fine arts in The College of Arts and Sciences, was featured in Smithsonian Magazine in an article on his recent determination that two silver figures from an altar panel made for the Baptistery in Florence, Italy, are the work of Leonardo da Vinci.

Jeffrey Stonecash, professor of political science in the Maxwell School and College of Arts and Sciences, was quoted in the Wall Street Journal in an article on New York State’s 2010 gubernatorial race.

Harvard’s Nieman Journalism Lab blog reported on the lecture by David Pogue of the New York Times at the recent Cultural Diplomacy symposium at SU.

Beliefnet reported Newhouse School graduate student Adeniyi Amadou won the Chandler Award from the Religion Newswriters Association as best student religion reporter.

Pat Campbell, senior associate director of athletics for the Carrier Dome, was interviewed on WSYR-AM’s Jim Reith show about arena security in light of recently released bulletins by the Department of Homeland Security and FBI naming entertainment and sports venues as potential terrorist targets.

WSYR-AM and WSYR-TV covered the Hendricks Chapel candlelight vigil held in remembrance of the 35 Syracuse University students lost in the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing in 1988. SU junior Jon Barnhart was quoted.
