Syracuse University Career Services will host the annual Law School Day on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 5-7 p.m. in the Panasci Lounge, upstairs in the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center. The event is an opportunity for students of all majors to connect with representatives from law schools across the country, to introduce students to programs and answer their questions about law school.
This year, more than 70 law schools from across the United States will be attending the event. Participating schools include Boston College Law School, Notre Dame Law School, Tulane University Law School and Wake Forest University School of Law. Law School Day is a chance for students to become acquainted with various law schools by speaking with representatives about things like admissions criteria, financial aid, and programs and curricula. Students need not dress formally or bring resumes.
“Many of our students continue to express an interest in attending law school after they graduate from Syracuse University,” says Mike Cahill, director of Career Services. “For these students, and even for those who may just want to learn more about what law school entails, this event is a great opportunity to make connections and gather information.”
“Making the decision to go to law school is a big one. We hope this event helps students increase their chances of finding a program that is a great fit,” says Pamela Latham, client services manager in Career Services. Students, especially sophomores and juniors, are encouraged to attend, even if they are still just considering law school.”
Law School Day is part of Syracuse University Career Week 2009, which includes the Career Fair at the Carrier Dome and several other career-related events the week of Sept. 21.
