David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School of Management, appeared on CNN’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight” to discuss the economy, jobs and financial regulation. Johnston’s appearance on CNN was also reported by Syracuse.com.

John Caputo, the Thomas J. Watson Professor in Religion and Humanities in The College of Arts and Sciences, was mentioned in a Vancouver Sun book review of “The Case for God.”

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, commented in an Associated Press article on cultural genres combined in Walt Disney Company’s acquisition of Marvel Entertainment Inc.; in a Houston Chronicle story on public incivility and apologies; and in Agence France Presse and Cleveland Plain Dealer articles on the impact of “The Jay Leno Show.”

An essay on “Designing for Light” by Richard Cook of Cook+Fox Architects, who is a member of the School of Architecture Board of Advisors, appeared in the Post-Standard Green Central New York section. Also in that section, Kathleen Bradley, text and general book division manager at the SU Bookstore, is quoted in a tip on buying used textbooks.
