Introducing Inside SU

Inside SU (https://news.syr.edu) makes its debut today.

Inside SU is a new campus information resource and a companion to the new Syracuse University News website (http://sunews.syr.edu). While the SU News site is intended for the general public, the Inside SU site is intended for SU students, faculty and staff.

A few features are common to both sites—such as news stories, events listings, weather updates every hour, an SU social media guide, SU in the News (highlights of the day’s media coverage related to SU), a rotating video/photo slideshow section and a searchable story archive.

Inside SU offers additional content specifically for the University community:

  • “Announcements” is a frequently updated listing of campus announcements.
  • “Student Center” is devoted to news and announcements specific to students.
  • “HR News” is information specific to faculty and staff.
  • “Community” focuses on SU activities in the community.
  • “Greening SU” offers content on sustainability topics.
  • “Newsmakers” highlights the achievements of specific students, faculty and staff.

Inside SU also includes updated stories from SU Athletics, with links to SUAthletics.com; a direct link to the online SU Events Calendar (http://suevents.syr.edu); and a handy guide to submitting news and event information (https://news.syr.edu/submitting-news-and-events/).

Additional features are planned to be added over the next few months.

News story links appearing in the weekday Syracuse University Today will now lead to the matching content on Inside SU. It is also hoped that students, faculty and staff will bookmark Inside SU and return often for the frequently freshened content.

The Inside SU, SU News and SU Events Calendar sites, along with SU Today, are products of SU’s Office of News Services. Inside SU was designed by Ellen Edgerton and is managed by Cynthia Moritz, both from the Office of News Services.

Comments or questions about Inside SU should be addressed to Moritz at cjmoritz@syr.edu or 443-9039.
