Mehrzad Boroujerdi, director of the Middle Eastern Studies Program in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, was quoted by Radio Free Europe in a story on the death of Iraq politician Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, was quoted in a Newsweek story on celebrity deaths.

Syracuse City Eagle featured the current SUArt Galleries exhibit “Winslow Homer’s Empire State: Houghton Farm and Beyond.” The exhibit was also included in the Syracuse New Times (fourth item) and featured in the Rome Sentinel.

Syracuse University’s preparations to reduce the spread of H1N1 and seasonal flu viruses were reported on by WSYR-AM. Kevin Morrow, University spokesperson, was quoted.

News 10 Now and WSYR-TV reported on yesterday’s student move-in and “Syracuse Welcome.”

The upcoming Orange Central events, “One on One: Frank Langella and Ted Koppel” and the Joyce Carol Oates lecture, were mentioned in the Post-Standard.
