Stories related to the release of convicted Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi which mentioned Syracuse University included a Los Angeles Times article on the reaction of FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III, an Associated Press article on plans by the victims’ families to protest the upcoming United Nations speech by Moammar Gadhafi, an article in the Buenos Aires Herald, a reflection in the Huffington Post authored by Nancy Snow, associate professor of public diplomacy at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and coverage by WSYR-AM.

Terry Turnipseed, associate professor of law in the College of Law, authored an op-ed for Jurist on the legal ramifications of adult adoptions as a means toward ensuring rights for same-sex couples.

Vin Crosbie, adjunct professor of visual and interactive communications in the Newhouse School, commented on diminishing anonymity online in a Canadian Globe and Mail article.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, was quoted in a Detroit Free Press article about a popular new Web site for funny text messages and a Cleveland Plain Dealer story on Hollywood weight watching.

Robert McClure, professor of political science in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and The College of Arts and Sciences, was quoted in an Associated Press article on New York state politicians and voters.

Cathryn R. Newton, College of Arts and Sciences dean emerita, was featured in a Post-Standard article on the database she created of shipwrecks along the southeastern U.S. coastline.

Syracuse.com reported on veterans in the Whitman School of Management’s Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities receiving free business suits as part of their commencement.

Greg Victory, director of first year and transfer programs, was quoted in a WSYR-AM report on the arrival of new students for academic year 2009-10 and the opening of Ernie Davis Residence Hall.
