Local and international news coverage of the release of convicted Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi has mentioned Syracuse University, including stories from the Associated Press, ABC News.com, Fox News, and local radio and TV coverage including WSYR-TV.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, commented on the popularity of the CBS News program “60 Minutes” in the Los Angeles Times and in the American Journalism Review in stories on the passing of the show’s creator, Don Hewitt.

The Post-Standard quoted former Newhouse School Dean David Rubin, now interim director of the Goldring Arts Journalism Program, on the passing of Don Hewitt.

WSYR-TV reported on area middle and high school students in the iCAN Robotics Program presenting their robots on the Syracuse University campus.
