David Cay Johnston, distinguished visiting lecturer in the College of Law and Whitman School of Management, appeared on CNN’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight” to speak about taxes and healthcare reform.

Mehrzad Boroujerdi, director of the Middle Eastern Studies Program in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, was quoted in Reuters and in the Christian Science Monitor on the continuing protests, political opposition and detainment in Iran after the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Jeffrey Stonecash, professor of political science in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and The College of Arts and Sciences, commented on the political future of Gov. David Paterson in a Crain’s New York Business article.

Scott Nicholson, associate professor in the iSchool, commented in the Kansas City Star on how libraries are now beginning to archive video games.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, was quoted in CNN on the legacy of Charles Manson. He also commented on the Woodstock anniversary in the Albany Times Union, and on the recent Twitter outage in the Associated Press.

The Post-Journal (Jamestown, N.Y.) reported on an event that brought together students from several Southern Tier high schools to hear from war crimes prosecution experts, including David Crane, professor of practice in the College of Law.

Bruce Kingma, associate provost for entrepreneurship and innovation and iSchool professor, was featured in a Zdnet multimedia post about the AlwaysOn Summit, “Giving education a digital makeover,” at Stanford.

Gary Pieples, visiting assistant professor and clinic director of the Securities Arbitration and Consumer Clinic in the College of Law, was quoted in the Post-Standard on mortgage fraud in rural Central New York. He was also quoted in another Post-Standard story that featured local families’ struggles with first-time home ownership.

Friday’s “Say Yes” summer camp celebration at Thornden Park was covered by WSYR-TV.

The Post-Standard featured iSchool student Pete Kistler and recent alumnus and 2009 SU Engagement Fellow R.J. Sherman in a story on their company, Brand-Yourself.com, and their contention for Entrepreneur Magazine’s “College Entrepreneur of 2009” award.

Anthony Rotolo, instructional technology manager and adjunct professor in the iSchool, was featured in a Central New York Business Journal article on social media tools.

Eagle Newspapers reported on the upcoming Syracuse University exhibit “Winslow Homer’s Empire State: Houghton Farm and Beyond.” Eagle also reported on the Ray von Dran fundraiser at the Dinosaur Barbecue.
