SU to host NYS Higher Education CIO Conference

SU to host NYS Higher Education CIO ConferenceJuly 22, 2009Chris Finklecfinkle@syr.edu

The 8th annual New York State Higher Education CIO Conference will take place July 22-24 at Syracuse University. This event is an opportunity for IT leaders to exchange ideas and experiences with peers from across New York state’s higher education community and to participate in discussions on issues and challenges unique to the profession and region.

SU is hosting the conference with the Whitman School of Management as the primary venue. The conference begins with a reception on Wednesday, July 22, and concludes at noon on Friday, July 24.

The agenda includes presentations on IT governance; the iPhone on campus; IT/library partnerships; metrics, the evolving semantic web; and higher education in the age of cloud computing, along with a panel discussion on meeting economic challenges.

Host sponsors for the event are SU, the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and NYSERNet, Inc. Corporate sponsors are Cisco Systems, Inc., Dell, Inc., EMC Corp., Hewlett Packard, IBM Corp., ServerWare Corp., Sun Microsystems, Sungard Higher Education, Time Warner Cable Business Class and TW Telecom.
