ArtsWeek along the Connective Corridor is a two-weekend festival that combines the longstanding Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival taking place July 24-26 at Columbus Circle, and the Northeast Jazz and Wine Festival happening July 23-25 at Clinton Square, along with nearly 20 other interactive arts activities. Other ArtsWeek events include: the Blue Rain Ecofest-an environmentally friendly festival taking place July 24-25 in Hanover Square; LaserGraf, an Urban Video Project interactive laser graffiti display taking place July 23-25 at 333. E. Onondaga St.; the Everson Museum Plein Air Painting “learn by doing” painting event, July 25 and Aug. 1 at City Hall Commons ; the Syracuse International Film Festival, July 24 at City Hall Commons; ArtsWeek ‘Zine, where Urban Art Rangers collect and write stories from festival attendees, July 25 at City Hall Commons; Delavan Art Gallery’s Hawaiian Luau, July 24 at 501 W. Fayette St.; Syracuse University’s Book Store Fair showcasing local and regional writers and illustrators, July 24-26 on the 300 block of Montgomery St.; and Candlelight Opera featuring five rising opera stars from Syracuse Opera, Aug. 1 in Armory Square. For more ArtsWeek activities, visit http://downtownsyracuse.com/index.php/static/C123.

The Connective Corridor buses will run to and from Manley Field House to various ArtsWeek events in downtown Syracuse. Due to street closings to accommodate the various art events, festival attendees are encouraged to use the free service.

Corridor Bus service times include:

Thursday, July 23: 5 p.m. -midnight Friday and Saturday, July 24-25: 9 a.m. -midnight Sunday, July 26: 9 a.m. -7 p.m.

Connective Corridor

The Connective Corridor is emerging as a signature strip of cutting-edge cultural development connecting the University Hill with downtown Syracuse. It is home to three major universities and more than 25 arts and cultural venues, all within close distance.

In the coming months and years these venues will be creatively linked together and showcased with new urban landscapes, bike paths, imaginative lighting, public and interactive art, signage and way-finding systems.

Centro provides free public transportation on the Connective Corridor between Syracuse University and important arts and cultural venues in Downtown Syracuse on a regular schedule.
