Frank McCourt, the former New York City school teacher and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “Angela’s Ashes,” died Sunday in New York City. He was 78. In 2007, he was the Commencement speaker for Syracuse University and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
