Betsy Morgan, Devin Wenig and David Zasav will serve as co-chairs for the third annual Mirror Awards luncheon, hosted by Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, on Tuesday, June 9, at 11:45 a.m. at the Harmonie Club in New York City.

Betsy Morgan

Morgan is CEO of The Huffington Post, a leading news and opinion website that in four years has become an influential media brand: “The Internet Newspaper.” The site offers coverage of politics, media, business, entertainment, living, style and being green, and is a top destination for news, blogs, video and original content. Prior to joining HuffPost, Morgan was general manager of CBSNews.com, the network’s 24-hour news service, and was a senior vice president at CBS News, where she was in charge of business development, digital media and new television ventures. She has also worked for News Corp.’s American Sky Broadcasting and in investment banking.

Devin Wenig

Wenig is the CEO of the markets division of Thomson Reuters. He leads the global financial services and media businesses, which provide information to professionals in the financial services, media and corporate markets.

Previously, Wenig served as chief operating officer and a board director of Reuters Group PLC and held a number of senior management positions. He first joined Reuters in 1993.

Wenig is a director of Nastech Pharmaceutical Co., one of the first American biotechnology companies, and the March of Dimes. He is also a member of the Young Global Leaders section of the World Economic Forum.

David Zaslav

Zaslav is president and CEO of Discovery Communications, the world’s number one nonfiction media company. He has served in the position since 2007, and has directed a strategic effort to clarify and strengthen Discovery’s world-class brands, highlighted by a partnership with Oprah Winfrey to launch OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. He launched Planet Green, Discovery’s cross-company initiative committed to documenting, preserving and celebrating the planet. Under Zaslav’s tenure, Discovery acquired HowStuffWorks.com and Treehugger.com.

Prior to joining Discovery, Zaslav had a distinguished career at NBC Universal, where he was instrumental in developing and launching CNBC and also played a role in the creation of MSNBC.

Before joining NBC, Zaslav was an attorney with the New York firm of LeBouef, Lamb, Leiby & MacRae.
