A variety of events are being offered to commemorate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in April. They include:

Monday, April 13, 7 p.m. Watson Theater“Vincent Who?,” a documentary sponsored by Asian Students in America and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Wednesday, April 15, 5-7 p.m., Room 107, Hall of LanguagesOpen forum, “So are you Chinese or Japanese? And other annoying assumptions about ethnic identity,” sponsored by Nu Alpha Phi.

Thursday, April 16, 7-9 p.m., Room 228B, Schine Student CenterChinese Game Night, sponsored by the Hong Kong Cultural Association.

Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, 8 p.m., Gifford AuditoriumFilm: “Gran Torino,” sponsored by UU Cinemas.

Tuesday, April 21, 9:30 a.m., Room 103, Link Hall“Asian and Asian-American Cultural Identity,” sponsored by The College of Arts and Sciences course “Transnational Asia” (CAS 200).

Tuesday, April 21, 4 p.m., 204 Maxwell HallThe Asian-Asian American Studies Program is sponsoring a reception to introduce the proposed minor.

Wednesday, April 22, 7 p.m., Room 228B, Schine Student CenterIntroduction to Hong Kong for study abroad students, sponsored by the Hong Kong Cultural Organization.

Wednesday, April 22, 7:30 p.m., Kittredge Auditorium“Xiaoling Liu: Butterfly’s Dream,” sponsored by Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority.

Thursday, April 23, 5 p.m., Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium, Newhouse 3 “Paving the Way: Asian Americans in Communications,” a panel of Newhouse alumni, sponsored by the Newhouse School and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

Thursday, April 23, 8 p.m., Ambrosia restaurant, 402 S. Franklin St.“SASA Spring Formal-Paving the Way Reception,” sponsored by the South Asian Students’ Association.

Saturday, April 25, 7 p.m., Goldstein Auditorium“Asia Night-The Milestone Award Show,” sponsored by Asian Students in America, admission $5.
