Syracuse University’s Community Test Kitchen (COMTEK) at the South Side Innovation Center (SSIC) will hold a panel discussion with food entrepreneurs on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. Titled “How to Start and Sustain a Prosperous Food Business,” the panel will include Kim Bukowski, president of Kimberly’s Ice Cream in Manlius; Kathy Chappini, owner of the Village Candy Shoppe in Manlius; and Paul DeLima, former owner of DeLima Coffee, a major roaster and purveyor of coffee, with more than 6,000 commercial customers and more than 2,000 products.

“We’re delighted to have such wonderful examples of local food entrepreneurs join us for a discussion on what it takes to take recipes to the next level and sell them nationally and internationally,” says Lynne Foster, product development coordinator for COMTEK. “Any budding food entrepreneur in Central New York will gain a lot of insight from these experts.”

COMTEK is a joint partnership with the Whitman School of Management at SU and the Nelson Farms subsidiary of Morrisville State College. The cost of the panel discussion is $10, and light refreshments will be served. Parking is available at the SSIC, located at 2610 S. Salina St. in Syracuse.

For more information or to make reservations, contact JoAnn Puchir, administrative coordinator, at (315) 443-8634 or jpuchir@syr.edu.
