Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications will host Ron Meyer, president and chief operating officer of NBC Universal, on Friday, Sept. 12. He will hold a question-and-answer session with students from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium, Newhouse 3.

Meyer joined Universal in 1995. Previously, he was president of Creative Artists Agency Inc., which he co-founded in 1975. The company is now a pre-eminent talent agency, representing many of the industry’s most influential and talented people. Its services also include consulting with leading American and international corporations.

Meyer was a television agent with the William Morris Agency from 1970-75. Prior to that, he worked as a messenger at the Paul Kohner Agency in Los Angeles from 1964-70. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Meyer, a longtime friend of the Newhouse School, served as a luncheon committee co-chair for the school’s Mirror Awards ceremony in 2007.
