Tickets are now on sale for the third annual Charity Sports Auction, presented by the Syracuse University Sport Management Club, which will take place on Tuesday, April 8, in the Carrier Dome. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for all students, 5 years of age and up. (SU students can use their SUpercard Plus accounts to purchase tickets.) Tickets can be purchased in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office or by calling 1 (888) DOMETIX (366-3849). A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association, as well as the Sport Management Club.

The evening will feature SU trustee and member of the Syracuse All-Century Football Team Donovan McNabb, five-time NFL Pro Bowl quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, as the Jreck Subs Distinguished Lecture speaker at 6:30 p.m. His lecture will be followed by a silent auction from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Both the lecture and the auction are open to the public.

The silent auction will include hundreds of items, including sports memorabilia from professional and collegiate sports teams and players, as well as non-sports-related items such as jewelry, electronics and tickets. A family fun area will also be available, along with professional athletes, both local and national, signing autographs.

The SU Sport Management Club is a student-run organization of the Department of Sport Management in the College of Human Ecology. Since its founding in 2005, the club has grown to more than 100 members and raised more than $30,000 for local charities.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is the nation’s premier voluntary health organization supporting diabetes research, information and advocacy as well as local area programs and services for people with diabetes, their families and the public. Founded in 1940, the ADA has offices in every region of the country, providing services to hundreds of communities. Its mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. For more information, visit http://www.diabetes.org or call 1 (800) DIABETES (342-2382).
