Syracuse Welcome 2007: A Slice of SU Life got under way Wednesday, Aug. 22, and continued through the weekend. About 3,100 new students were welcomed tocampus by hundreds of volunteers who helped them move into their residence halls. Then they were treated to a wide varietyof welcoming events, including the Chancellor’s Convocation for New Students and Lunch on the Turf in the Carrier Dome,individual college convocations and “Feel the Pulse of Syracuse,” a downtown event on Aug. 25.
