For the 2007 graduating class, the job market will be a very competitive place where students will need the knowledge and skills necessary to work in their chosen field before even leaving college. Hands-on experience is part of the reason the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University requires all students to complete an internship prior to graduation. Internships allow students to experience first hand what it is like to work in various industries.
Whitman’s Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises program has implemented the D’Aniello Internship Program, which will place students into internships in which they will work directly with an entrepreneur, president or senior executive in a high-growth, innovative company located in the greater Syracuse metropolitan area.
“The D’Aniello Internship Program has been an invaluable experience,” says senior William Haughney. “I am a triple major in finance, accounting and entrepreneurship, and had never been exposed to how to market a company before, but this experience has strengthened my abilities to market myself and a company. I encourage all students to apply and learn all there is to learn from this program.”
D’Aniello interns are required to take the internship for course credit and must work between 15 and 20 hours per week for 13 weeks with their host company. Whitman and the company hosting the internship also compensate the students with a stipend that is funded.
Any SU upper-class student or graduate student of high standing interested in entrepreneurship is eligible to apply.
