Goldstein Auditorium, South Campus meeting rooms to close for summer renovationsMay 01, 2006SU News ServicesSUnews@syr.edu

Student Centers and Programming Services (SCPS) has announced the temporary closures of Goldstein Auditorium in the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center and meeting rooms and the food court in South Campus’ Goldstein Student Center. Both spaces will be closed beginning May 15 and will reopen in time for the Fall 2006 semester.

Goldstein Auditorium will be out of service until Aug. 14. During the summer, workers will install a new, larger electric stage lift, which will provide additional utility for student organizations, the PULSE performing-arts program and the administrative and academic departments that use the stage space for theater, music, dance and other performances.

On South Campus, the Goldstein Student Center’s food court and meeting rooms will be closed until Aug. 20, during which time renovations to the food court will provide space for additional food options and student seating. For more information about the food court renovations, contact David George, director of Food Services, at (3153) 443-3608.

SCPS has contacted the scheduled summer users of both spaces to share information about the closures and make alternative space arrangements. For more information or help with summer space referrals and scheduling, contact SCPS at (315) 443-4240.
