MPH Live Auction Gala to honor Syracuse University

MPH Live Auction Gala to honor Syracuse UniversityApril 06, 2006Sara Millersemortim@syr.edu

Manlius Pebble Hill School’s 23rd Annual Live Auction Gala will be held Saturday evening, April 29, at The Lodge at Welch Allyn in Skaneateles. This year’s gala will honor Syracuse University, in recognition of the University’s contributions to the greater Syracuse community and its many efforts to support and partner with MPH. SU Chancellor Nancy Cantor will be the guest speaker.

The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and an auction of artwork, vacations, sports packages and collectibles. All works of art to be auctioned are by nearly two dozen SU affiliated artists, including David MacDonald, Margie Hughto, Hall Groat and Bruce Manwaring.

Reservations must be made by Wednesday, April 19. Call MPH at 446-2452, ext. 116.

Winners of vacation trips will travel to England, Ireland and stateside destinations, including Kiawah Island, S.C.; Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Stratton Mountain, Vt.; Carmel Valley, Calif.; and Key West, Fla. Other auction items range from an autographed Bruce Springsteen guitar to a courtside suite VIP Big East basketball package.

In conjunction with its Live Auction Gala, MPH is holding a raffle for a brand new Volvo, provided by Alan Byer Volvo. The winner?who will be announced at the April 29 Auction?will choose between a 2006 Volvo S40 AWD sedan (retail value $33,630) and a 2006 Volvo V50 AWD wagon (retail value $34,855). Each car includes the premium package with leather, moon roof and climate control, plus choice of color. Tickets are $100 each; a maximum of 400 tickets will be sold. Additionally, prior to its Live Auction Gala on Saturday, April 29, MPH is conducting an online auction at www.mph.net. The online auction offers vacations to New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Disney World; adventure outings; and sports memorabilia signed by Bobby Orr, Dan Marino and Derek Jeter. The online auction will run through April 21.
