Members of SU’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team pose at the recent competition in Philadelphia where they were named League Champion and Rookie of the Year. The wins earned them a spot in the national competition, to be held May 21-23 in Kansas City.

The organization is housed in the Whitman School of Management, where half of its members are students. But its 28 students come from across campus. Pictured are April Hace, Nicole Walters, Professor Amanda Nicholson, Jason Pena and Samina Noorani.

Nicholson is the Sam Walton Faculty Fellow and advisor to the team, while Rose Crisalli acts as the team administrator. The team won on the merits of their work with several projects, including retail training for Salina Shoe Salon, work with ESL students at H.W. Smith Elementary School and GED tutoring for women who live in a transitional home on the southside known as Chadwick House, as well as a very successful T-shirt fundraiser for Hurricane Katrina victims.
