Actor, producer and activist Edward James Olmos-star of “Selena” and “Stand and Deliver”-will speak Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. in the Schine Student Center’s Goldstein Auditorium. He will present a lecture on “Americanos-La Vida Latina en Los Estados Unidos” with Lea Ybarra, executive director of the Institute for the Academic Advancement of Youth at Johns Hopkins University.
“Americanos” (Brown and Company, 1999), is a bilingual textual and photographic representation of Latino life in the United States. Olmos and Ybarra will participate in a book signing after the lecture, sponsored by La L.U.C.H.A. with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and U. Encounter.
