Comedian Gilbert Gottfried to perform at Syracuse University’s Schine Student Center Dec. 1November 20, 2001Jonathan Hayjhay@syr.edu

Gilbert Gottfried, who has brought his comedic style to numerous television shows, films and stages in the last two decades, will perform Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. in the Schine Student Center’s Goldstein Auditorium at Syracuse University.

Gottfried’s performance is sponsored by the Jewish Student Union. Tickets are $3 with a SU ID and $6 without a SU ID and are available by calling the Schine Box Office at 443-4517.

The Jewish Student Union annually brings a speaker to campus in December. Past years have included visits from Henry Winkler, Wolf Blitzer and Jon Stewart.

Gottfried has achieved fame in his stand-up routines for his rapid-firetrain-of-thought delivery. He is a network television regular on “Hollywood Squares” and the “Tonight Show.” One of the first places many viewers saw Gottfried on television was as a regular on “Saturday Night Live.”

He has also appeared in a number of quirky roles in movies, including”Beverly Hills Cop II,” “Aladdin,” “Problem Child,” “How to Be a Player” and “Doctor Dolittle.”
