Students in Syracuse University’s Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music will present “Off the Bat,” an Opera Pastiche at 8 p.m. Nov. 17 in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium in Crouse College. The opera workshop is free and open to the public.
The program will include “Die Fledermaus” Act II, and scenes from “The Mikado,” “La Clemenza di Tito,” “Gianni Schicchi,” “Carmen” and “La Boheme,” and will feature members of the SU Opera Workshop-Garrett Heater, Jennie Nadig, Brenda McDonald, Joanna Manring and Virginia Wallenbeck-the Syracuse University Orchestra and a guest appearance by John Moir, an adjunct voice professor in the Setnor School of Music.
James Tapia, associate professor and director of Orchestral Activities, will conduct. The Opera Workshop is directed by Eric Johnson, assistant professor in the Setnor School of Music.
