New App Helps Students, Faculty, Staff Order from Campus Food Services

A new smart phone app is now available to students, faculty and staff, allowing them to order food from Food Services simply by tapping their phone. The app, called Tapingo, aims to make eating on campus more convenient than ever before. Using Tapingo (which is free to download), users can browse menus, customize orders, pay and have their items scheduled for pickup.

Once an order is ready, Tapingo sends a text notification to the user, who can pick it up and avoid waiting in line. Embodying the Tapingo lifestyle of “wait less, live more,” the technology is so advanced that the app remembers personalized choices (hold the mayo) for one-tap reordering.

As part of an ongoing commitment to innovation and service, Food Services sees a partnership with Tapingo as a perfect way to give choice and convenience to students, faculty and staff.  “Tapingo provides us with an opportunity to offer a convenient mobile solution and further strengthens our ability to provide outstanding customer service on campus,” says David George, director of Food Services.

Students, faculty and staff can process Tapingo orders from Schine Dining, Starbucks, Pages, Life Sciences and Eggers Café. Additional venues will come online as they open for the school year. Items can be purchased through the app using SUperCard, and credit/debit cards.

The Tapingo app is available on iTunes and Google Play.
