VML Global CEO Jon Cook to Deliver Mower Forum Lecture at Newhouse April 4

Jon Cook, global CMO of the marketing and advertising agency VML, will visit the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications April 4 as a guest of the Eric Mower Advertising Forum. He will speak on “The Evolution of the Modern Day Ad Agency” at 6:30 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. Follow on Twitter at #MowerForum.

A driving force at VML for nearly 20 years, Cook has served as global CEO since 2011. During his tenure, the agency has grown from 30 employees in Kansas City to more than 2,400 professionals on six continents. Also under Cook’s leadership, VML was named to the 2016 AdAge Agency A-List, which recognizes the industry’s top 10 agencies.

Cook has guided VML through critical stages of global growth and expanded capabilities, continually future-proofing the agency for success in a rapidly changing industry. His work embodies the agency’s mission to inspire human connection and drive business forward for client partners.

Cook is a member of the leadership board of the American Association of Advertising Agencies and a member of the WPP Digital Advisory Board. He was recognized as the Advertising Professional of the Year by the American Advertising Federation in 2014. He also serves on the advisory board of the VML Foundation and is a member of the Head for the Cure Foundation.

VML, together with the marketing and communications company Young & Rubicam (Y&R), is partnering with the Newhouse School and the Whitman School of Management to build the China Fellowship Program, a three-year program that provides Chinese students with on-the-job training at VML and Y&R headquarters. On campus, Cook will be joined by William Manfredi, executive vice president for global talent management for Y&R, to visit with and recruit students to the program.
