The University is currently monitoring the winter weather and road conditions in Syracuse and the surrounding region. This effort includes assessing recent National Weather Service data and forecasting, and consulting with an independent meteorologist. Based on current conditions, the University expects to remain fully open and operational on Tuesday, Feb. 16. This means all classes are currently taking place as scheduled.
As always, campus community members should be aware and take precautions when severe weather is in the area. If at any time a student, faculty or staff member encounters weather conditions that could affect their safety when traveling to/from the University, they should use their judgement as it relates to their travel. Students are encouraged to communicate directly with their professors to make alternate arrangements regarding their assignments. Faculty and staff concerned about their safety should contact their department head or supervisor respectively.
The University will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions. If a change in the University’s operating status becomes necessary, it will be announced via campus email, the University Twitter account @SUCampus, on news.syr.edu and syr.edu, Syracuse University radio station WAER-FM88, as well as other local media outlets.
