Syracuse University has identified a finalist for the position of director (ADA/503/504 coordinator). Interested faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend an open forum where the candidate will be presenting briefly on his vision to promote inclusion for students, faculty and staff with disabilities. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the search committee. The open forum will be held:

Louis Altman believes that communication and empowerment are at the heart of inclusion. Inclusion–respect for all human expression and ability–is most profoundly embedded in a culture when people are informed about civil rights, social justice and each other.
A New York University-trained attorney with an MS in Rehabilitation Counseling (SUNY Buffalo), Louis has developed these two complimentary skill sets in advocacy and counseling and has advanced into increasingly more responsible roles in the field of disability services. As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the New York State Commission for the Blind, he has come to recognize that technology can fundamentally rewrite the landscape of what inclusion and access mean. As an adjunct professor for SUNY Buffalo teaching ethics and diversity courses, he can testify to the potential and faith of every student, each wanting to change the world for the better, in his or her own way.
Attendees will have an opportunity to complete a short survey at the end of the forum.
